The Red Gown

We have partnered with J D Wetherspoon to bring you The Red Gown, our brand new pub opening 4th September 2026. 

The pub will be open from 8am until 3am, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, and 8am to 1am from Sunday to Tuesday and Thursday. Food will be served throughout the day, from opening until 11pm every day. 

Members of the public will be allowed in the pub up to 11pm Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, but will need to be signed in by a student to stay in after midnight on these event nights.

On sunny days, you can enjoy our outdoor seating and beer garden. Or pop into our side room - affectionately referred to as "Sandy's Snug" after our late bar manager by our pub team - where we screen major sporting events and host our Sunday pub quiz.

No reservations or private bookings are available in The Red Gown. Please pop in and grab a table!

Beacon Bar

Beacon Bar offers a top-class range of gin, rum, and other spirits, complemented by our cocktail list. With designer sofas and views along Market Street, Beacon is an excellent place to escape the hustle and bustle of downstairs.

Whether you are celebrating or just want to relax with friends, this is the place to do it, without having to pay the premium prices you might find elsewhere.

Beacon Bar is open throughout the week and available for private functions during the day and early evening.
