  • Weekend Cleaning Team Leader

    Details:To lead a small team of casual, primarily student cleaners, Saturday and Sunday from 7.30am. Supervising the team, providing support and determining the cleaning needs of the building daily in collaboration with the duty porter, you are responsible for ensuring the cleaners operate well and with efficiency while they are here.

    Details:Student Engagement interns support the Student Engagement team as well as the Executive Officers with various projects and events like Freshers and Refreshers fayres, elections, volunteering, employability, wellbeing and community, union affairs and academic representation.

  • Cleaners

    Details:Cleaning of designated areas, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, emptying of bins and recycle bins, cleaning toilets, glass and vacuuming. Performing general cleaning duties in commercial and non-commercial areas in the Union building e.g. cleaning floors, surfaces and toilets. Whilst experience is useful, it is not essential, as we'll give you the training you need: much more important is that you're reliable, keen, willing to learn, and have an eye for detail.

  • Casual Coffee Shop Assistant

    Details:You will work primarily in a front of house role alongside our Café team, serving a variety of hot and cold food and beverages across both Rectors Café in our main building and the Old Union Coffee Shop on North Street.

About Your Union

We support an extensive system of student representatives on both the undergraduate and postgraduate level. We have a thriving student activities scene with over 150 affiliated societies, serve as the primary entertainments venue for St Andrews students, and provide a range of services including two coffee shops and four bars.

We currently employ over 100 casual staff to support our commercial and building operations, in a range of roles including bar staff, customer safety, cleaners and coffee shop assistants. These jobs are mostly filled by students, who play a unique role working alongside our experienced core of permanent staff to bring the highest levels of service and help make your student experience truly memorable.
