About me

What is Comparative Literature and why do we care? Simply, Comp Lit is the study of literature in translation, but it's also so much more than that. Comp Lit takes a look at the theoretical perspectives that allow us to analyse not only how literature functions, but why we study it. From translation to transmedia analysis to the nature of literature itself, Comp Lit asks you to question everything and in doing so, to open your mind and expand your perception of the media you consume.

I'm a fourth year doing a joint degree with Comp Lit and Psychology, and I am very excited to return as your Comp Lit Convener this year. Building off of last year's work, my main goals are to foster a greater on campus presence and create a more inclusive and well-connected community. Comp Lit is a small department, but that's no reason we can't be bigger in people's hearts! I aim to host more in-person events, restrictions allowing, and foster a stronger relationship between subhonours and honours classes.

As your convener, I am here to be your liaison between students and staff and to help facilitate conversations that will improve the department as a whole. The School of Comp Lit has been wonderful to me during my time here, and I want to make sure I can help you get the absolute best experience possible. Please don't hesitate to reach out for anything at all, I always welcome a chat!
