Providing support to the Management Accountant and playing a leading role in a small and busy Cash Office team, you’ll handle a varied and at times demanding workload while maintaining the highest standards of reliability, integrity and customer service.
Description of specific duties
- Creation of sales Ledger invoices
- Credit control - monitor outstanding debtors and pursue overdue payments.
- Write cheques as required – recording transactions in cheque payment book
- Maintain purchase ledger by allocating payments against outstanding invoices.
- Assist with purchase ledger and cash book as and when required.
- Processing wages and salaries, to be approved by Management Accountant/HR Manager.
- Balance cash book, sales ledger and purchase ledger at end of month.
- Check and certify monthly computer bank reconciliation.
- Conduct annual audit of student societies’ finances (to be reviewed by Management Accountant)
- Transfer and check all nominal ledger posting are accurate.
- Providing support and advice for sub-committees and societies in relation to finance issues.
- Produce reports, resolve anomalies and answer general queries relevant to operations of the office
- General office duties including dealing with inquiries from students, user groups, suppliers and others.
- Assist with quarterly VAT returns
- Assist in the preparation of management accounts
- Assist Management Accountant in general running of the department.
- Other duties within the office as required.
