Details

The Finance Department exists to manage the association’s accounts, processing income streams and supporting the organisations charitable purposes. Sitting on the first floor of our busy building, it houses a reception desk and handles all finance matters and is the interface for enquiries from all student groups and stakeholders

Description of specific duties:

  • Assist with credit control activities.
  • Write cheques as required – recording transactions and preparing bankline payments.
  • Assist with sales ledger, cash book and raising invoices as and when required.
  • Balance cash book, sales ledger and purchase ledger at end of month.
  • Assist with auditing student society accounts bi-annually.
  • Produce reports, resolve anomalies and answer any queries relevant to operations of the office.
  • Providing financial support and advice for student sub-committees and societies, and any other student user groups as required.
  • Maintain computerised financial records of the sub-committees
  • Receive and process donations collected by the Charities campaign and other sub-committees
  • Check and reconcile cash from student groups and create floats for events and activities as required.
  • Assist with banking for all Departments including periodically auditing safes and floats.
