Below is a quick update of what we've been up to as an Association since the Festive break.

We enjoyed another great Refreshers Week, with sell out events such as Cascada and the Bop, which continues to go from strength to strength. Our Fayre (photo below) was also a great success with a busy building packed with societies, sub committees and sports clubs. 
 

 

News

Services:

Saints LGBT+ held a fantastic Queer Fest, filled with events. One of which was the Pride parade on Saturday, it was an amazing opportunity for the St Andrews community to gather and show their commitment to equality.  We think it went fantastically and the organisers should be proud.

The Semester ahead looks like it will be very busy, we’ve got external bars practically every weekend, from FS to hall balls to Rugby Sevens and much more!

Grad Ball - We've been making moves to finalise a Grad Ball act for 2017 and we've been proactively advertising the date - 24th June 2017 - so that students can adequately prepare their travel plans! 

Representation:

Student's Association Elections are upcoming at the end of February! These are exciting times where we will hear from candidates how they would like to take the Students' Association forward. Check out their posters which will be going up from the 25th February onwards!

Mental Health Awareness Week is running between the 13th - 19th February. We'll be hosting comedian Dave Chawner for a night of laughs on the 16th, and renowned campaigner Jonny Benjamin MBE spoke to the community on the 14th. Societies and Activities:

This is the semester of festivals. Refreshers Fayre was a big success with over 150 stalls incorporating more sports teams than ever. Semester two is the time of week long festivals so there is something to keep us all busy. Here is what some of our subcommittees have in store:
 
RAG Week had an amazing week and the Charities Campaign raised money for it’s three nominated charities – Frontline Fife, Anthony Nolan, and Women for Women International. Some photos of their event can be found on their facebook page

Saints LGBT+ held a fantastic Queer Fest.

On The Rocks is shaping up to be a great arts festival running from the 31st March to 9th April. Keep up to date with what is coming up on their facebook page.

Digital Signage

Our new Onelan screens seem to be a success so far with great feedback from students and staff - we love the way they brighten the bar and provide a constant stream of news and information about events.
 

YoYo

Yo Yo is a great app for staff as well as students. The more you spend the more earn points which can be redeemed against a great range of goodies!
