Variable (expected 10-15 hours per week) The variable working hours reflect the changing demands on student representatives across the academic year – applicants must be flexible in this respect. In turn, the St Andrews Students’ Association is committed to giving flexible time off around exams and deadlines wherever possible. Specific schedules will be discussed with the successful applicant.
The Role

As the Advocacy Co-ordinator manages accommodation enquiries and issues. The Accommodation Intern will play a crucial role in supporting the Advocacy Coordinator with operational, and administrative tasks while gaining valuable hands-on experience in housing issues and project management.
Working directly with the Advocacy Co-ordinator, this position will ensure the smooth running of Advocacy & Advice Service in the areas of housing/accommodation issues, assisting in conducting research, and overseeing specific projects.
Principle Responsibilities of Post-Holder
- Administrative Support:
Provide administrative support to the Advocacy Co-ordinator to deal with all incoming housing/accommodation issues including tracking actions, following up on required tasks, and supporting the Advocacy Co-ordinator with other administrative activities as needed.
- Research & Briefings:
Provide research on accommodation/housing issues , including updates to legislation. The Accommodation Intern may also support Executive and part-time Officers involved in accommodation issues, as required.
- Communications Support:
Assist with drafting communications, including Advocacy & Advice Service website and social media in the areas of housing issues..
- Special Projects:
Assist with ad hoc projects related to housing led by the Advocacy Co-ordinator, as required.
This internship provides the chance to gain significant experience in leadership, student representation, and housing laws. You will have the opportunity to develop skills in project management, research, and communication.
