The St Andrews Foreign Affairs Society is a dynamic organisation which aims to encourage the discussion of international politics.
The Foreign Affairs Society (FAS) is a society affiliated with the School of International Relations and devoted to the study of global politics and foreign policy. We aim to facilitate interaction and dialogue between members of the University and the wider public, who are interested in geo-demographic and politico-economic issues relating to present, past or future concerns to the international system, encouraging individuals to re-evaluate perceptions whilst enhancing knowledge and understanding. We aspire to accomplish this by providing a platform for debates and round-table discussions, in addition to hosting speakers, experts and lecturers on contentious issues that concern today’s global community.
We are here solely for students of the University of St Andrews. We exist to make the student experience as strong as it can be, to provide services for students, and to represent student views to the University and beyond. We are a charity registered in Scotland and we are mostly volunteers, from members of the SRC and SSC to Ents Crew, all the society committee members to the Trustees of our Board.
