Celtic Society, St Andrews' oldest and friendliest society, embraces all things Scottish!
The Celtic and Ceilidh Society, St Andrews oldest and friendliest society, embraces all things Scottish!
We specialise in Beginner's Gaelic classes and most of all Ceilidh and Scottish Country Dance classes!
Our Scottish Country Dance classes cater to all levels, whether you simply want to survive a ceilidh, or show off on stage with our demonstration team. NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED!
Our Beginner's classes are at 7:00pm to 9:00pm on Sundays in Boys Brigade Hall and Intermediates at 7:15pm to 9:15pm on Wednesday in Holy Trinity Church Hall.
Our Gaelic classes which started up again in January 2020 cater to beginners with our lovely teacher, Andrew, leading the class every Tuesday from 7:00pm to 8:30pm in the Student's Union Meeting Room.
Outside of class we hold frequent socials with Movie Nights featuring different Scottish movies - yes there is more than just Braveheart! After classes we frequently go to the pub or to Jannetta's for ice cream!
Join us for a real Scottish experience which combines the traditional with kilt-fulls of fun!
We are here solely for The University of St Andrews students. We
are here to make the student experience as strong as it can be,
provide services you need and to represent your views to the
University and beyond. We are a charity registered in Scotland and
we are mostly volunteers, from the members of the SRC and SSC to
the Ents Crew who run Union events, all the society committee
members to the Trustees of our Board.
