St Andrews Malaysian International Group (SMIG) was established in 2009, with the purpose of delivering the Malaysian experience to our members by doing our best to showcase Malaysian hospitality within St Andrews.

We plan regular events for our members, making sure that everyone gets to have a little fun throughout the year. We aim to be a social group that not only brings together Malaysians, but also people from all over.

As the official Malaysian Society in St Andrews, SMIG works with other societies within the University as well as with other Malaysian societies throughout the United Kingdom and Éire.

Our annual activities include (but are not limited to) attending inter-Malaysian society sporting events and Malaysian cultural nights, hosting dinner parties/socials (where we serve Malaysian cuisine and showcase cultural performances), as well as annually presenting our flagship event, Flavours of Malaysia.
