Guide Dog

Charitable society working closely with the local Fife branch of Guide Dogs for the Blind.

The Guide Dogs Society is a charitable society working closely with the local Fife branch of Guide Dogs for the Blind UK charity. As a society, we have 3 main aims:

  1. To fundraise for the charity Guide Dogs for the Blind UK.
  2. To raise awareness for Guide Dogs for the Blind UK and its campaigns for the blind and partially sighted.
  3. To work with local branches of the charity and local volunteers to develop ties between 'town' and 'gown' communities to support the charity.

We hold events throughout the year. Our main events are our 'puppy events', where local handlers bring their puppies and retired guide dogs to the university for students to meet. It's a great opportunity for members and non-members to learn about the charity and get some puppy time!

We accept new members at any point throughout the year, so it is never too late to get involved! Members are able to join our 'Member Volunteer Group', which helps members coordinate volunteering opportunities with the society and the local branch of the charity.

For those who want to be involved even more, membership allows you to vote and run in our AGM and EGMs! Alternatively if you'd prefer to be a social member and pop along to events to cuddle puppies thats fine too!
