  • Coffee Shop Assistant

    Details:You will work primarily in a front of house role alongside our Café team, serving a variety of food and beverages across both Rectors Café in our main building and the Old Union Coffee Shop on North Street. You will be working with part time student staff including those at school age as part of a young, enthusiastic frontline team. This will involve weekend working and exact shifts may vary week to week according to the needs of the operation.

    Details:Daytime, weekend and early evening shifts available You'll provide high quality customer service, preparing and serving hot and cold food and drinks in our catering outlets including Rectors' Coffee Shop and the Old Union Diner. Various shifts are available, but applicants should be flexible and available to work early evening and weekend shifts. Barista experience is helpful but training will be given.

About Your Union

We support an extensive system of student representatives on both the undergraduate and postgraduate level. We have a thriving student activities scene with over 150 affiliated societies, serve as the primary entertainments venue for St Andrews students, and provide a range of services including two coffee shops and four bars.

We currently employ over 100 casual staff to support our commercial and building operations, in a range of roles including bar staff, customer safety, cleaners and coffee shop assistants. These jobs are mostly filled by students, who play a unique role working alongside our experienced core of permanent staff to bring the highest levels of service and help make your student experience truly memorable.
