About the Position
Luke Lynch, as the Entertainments Officer convenes the Ents Crew, the voluntary technical crew of the Union.
Specifically, the Entertainments Officer:
- Oversees the training and development of Ents volunteers in technical, creative, and organisational roles.
- Advocates for volunteer involvement in Union-led events and programmes.
- Supports safe, inclusive, and innovative event delivery in partnership with Union staff.
- Represent Ents volunteers on Union committees and during event planning.
- Works with Union staff to ensure volunteers are included in concerts, club nights, balls, and other major events.
- Organises socials, recognition events, and opportunities for collaboration with other activity groups.
- Develops pathways for volunteers to build skills in event management, production, and technical theatre.
Role holders take office after May Dip and end their term the following April. On average, the Entertainments Officer spends between 10 and 15 hours per week on their role.
