Gives Back Awards
Our student volunteers make amazing contributions to our Union, University, and wider community. These awards will showcase the depth and breadth of their involvement and impact.
Gives Back gives out eight awards, which are:
Volunteer of the Year

A student who has demonstrated exceptional dedication to volunteering. This may include consistent effort, leadership, or innovation to create a meaningful impact on their community, organization, or cause.
USACC Volunteer of the Year
- A student who has gone above and beyond to support the campaign’s goals this year, showcasing outstanding commitment to fundraising for University of St Andrews Charities Campaign’s three charities.
SVS Volunteer of the Year
- A student who has made a significant contribution to the projects organized by the St Andrews Voluntary Service.
Sports Volunteer of the Year
- An individual or club involved in sports that has excelled in fundraising efforts, demonstrated exceptional collaboration with a charity, or otherwise made an outstanding contribution to the broader St Andrews sports community.
Charitable Society or Group of the Year
- A society or group that has shown extraordinary dedication to fundraising or working closely with a charity to make a positive impact.
Charitable Event of the Year
- An event that has achieved exceptional success in fundraising or made a significant contribution to a charity through creativity, effort, and community involvement.
Outstanding Contribution to the Student Community
- A student or group of students who have made a positive impact on the local community.
