Ahead of our exciting 150th Anniversary events, Music Society will be holding their 150th AGM. Come along to have your say in Music Society and vote/run for next year's committee.

Available roles

  • President
    • Organises a 26-person committee, liaises with Laidlaw Music Centre and the Union, and ensures smooth running of all aspects of the society.
  • Vice-President
    • Perfect for aspiring future Mussoc presidents – responsibilities include handling auditions and concert logistics and organising Music Fayre and the Christmas Concert.
  • Treasurer
    • Manages finances for the whole society (with plenty of spreadsheet prowess), allocating annual budgets to each ensemble, events and other aspects of the society.
  • Secretary
    • Writes weekly newsletter emails, updates our website, and takes minutes at meetings.
  • Events Manager(s)*
    • The life of every party – from running pub quizzes and BBQs, to hosting flat-crawls, and even organising our annual Music Ball.
    • * Up to 2 positions available.
  • Lunchtime Concerts Manager
    • Organises weekly lunchtime recitals every Friday at 13:10 and handles livestreaming, sound and lights.
  • Social Media Officer
    • Runs our Instagram and Facebook pages, creating fun posts and engaging with followers.
  • Marketing Officer
    • Designs posters and programmes for all of our concerts!
  • Alumni & Community Relations Officer
    • Keeps alumni up-to-date with what’s happening in the Society through semesterly newsletters.
  • Wellbeing Officer
    • Friendly point-of-contact for any issues, within or out with the Society, and curator of weekly wellbeing content.
  • Group Managers
    • Responsibility vary on a per group basis - elected in rehearsals, week 8/9.
