The University of St Andrews Sport and Exercise Medicine Society aims to provide opportunities for undergraduate and postgraduate medical students within an interest in Sports and Exercise Medicine. This is a fairly new medical specialty, with specialists trained in musckuloskeletal and physical activity medicine, as well as team care. An important application of SEM is improving the health of the general public with excercise prescription and and advice
Here at St Andrews SEM society, we're passionate about all things exercise and health, and run fun challenges aimed at getting people outside and exercising, as well as organising informative talks from specialists in the field of SEM.
We are here solely for students of the University of St Andrews. We exist to make the student experience as strong as it can be, to provide services for students, and to represent student views to the University and beyond. We are a charity registered in Scotland and we are mostly volunteers, from members of the SRC and SSC to Ents Crew, all the society committee members to the Trustees of our Board.
