Fundraising for Women for Women International through social and collaborative events.

Women for Women International provides women survivors of war, civil strife and other conflicts with the tools and resources to move from crisis and poverty to stability and self-sufficiency.  Since 1993, Women for Women International has reached over 550,000 women survivors of war. The non-profit organisation currently operates in 17 conflict-affected countries around the world, investing in women to help them rebuild their lives from the ground up.

One of the unique aspects of Women for Women is the “sister-to-sister” bonds that the charity cultivates through individual sister sponsorship programmes, facilitated through letter exchanges. Women for Women operates directly at the grassroots level, training women survivors of war in year-long programmes that emphasise self-reliance in four key aspects: earning and savings, rights and decision-making, health and wellness, and support networks.

As a society, we passionately believe in this cause, and since our society was established in 2012, we have worked hard to raise as much money as possible for this transformative charity, as well as increase awareness of the charity in our local community. In the last ten years, we have sponsored over 100 sisters.

Some of our past events have included craft nights, movie screenings, bake sales, pub quizzes, karaoke nights, self-defence classes, speaker events, Ceilidhs, and letter-writing campaigns. We welcome involvement from everyone (all genders, students and non-students alike).  Follow us on Instagram and join our mailing list to stay up-to-date on our latest news - we're so excited for the year ahead and look forward to seeing you at an event soon!
