Did you mean: List of Societies?

St Andrews' hub for everything blockchain, crypto and Web3.

Founded in 2023, the University of St Andrews Blockchain Society runs Europe's largest university crypto fund. We welcome all students, whatever your experience or degree.

The Society operates through three streams: Education, Research and Venture Capital.

  • Education is built for beginners. Across ten weekly sessions, you'll learn about fundamental crypto topics, including blockchain basics, Bitcoin vs Ethereum vs Solana, stablecoins, DeFi and more. To put learning into practice, each student writes an article, with the strongest featured in our flagship, semesterly magazine.

  • Research houses our magazine, On The Block, where members write articles and interview executives at industry-leading companies like Coinbase and Plasma. The magazine is read by regulators, companies and leading universities in the UK, Europe and North America. Members also publish thought pieces and one-off articles on our Substack, and we run a student consulting team delivering crypto and Web3 solutions for companies globally.

  • Venture Capital manages our live 40 ETH fund, traded through the DormDAO programme against leading university funds worldwide. Members research, pitch, debate and execute real investment decisions, plus our students have access to £50,000 in grants from Superteam UK to build their own blockchain projects.

To join: applications open to join all streams at the beginning of each semester. The link is currently live on our Instagram (@ustablockchain) and LinkedIn. Membership is £11 per year, payable here once you receive an offer.
