Principal Ambassador

Hello! My name is Ben and I'm this year's Principal Ambassador!

Hello! My name is Ben and I'm this year's Principal Ambassador!

Hello! My name is Ben McAuley and I'm a third year Arabic and Maths student from Strathaven, Scotland. This year I was appointed to the position of Principal Ambassador.

Together with the five Vice-Principal Ambassadors, I work with the University Admissions Department, the Students' Association, and our team of over 350 Student Ambassadors to coordinate visiting days and other tours & events for prospective students and their families.

The Student Ambassadors are the official student representatives of the University. The scheme is designed to be flexible around studies and enable Ambassadors to build skills and experience as they help prospective students make choices about their future studies.

Student Ambassadors work on Widening Access & Participation (WA&P) Projects with the University.  WA&P Projects work with local school and college pupils to promote the value of learning and of post-secondary education through a variety of projects including mentoring, shadowing days, workshops and summer schools.

Visiting Days offer opportunities to give tours, answer questions and welcome prospective students to St Andrews during term time. Throughout the year, Ambassadors will be offered jobs involving media and press work, greeting VIP visitors, Graduation Ceremonies and more.

If you have any questions about the Student Ambassador Scheme, you can email me at  princamb@st-andrews.ac.uk, visit our website for more information, or head to our Facebook page to stay up to date with Application details and everything else Ambassadors are involved in throughout the year.
