Hello, I am Gergely (but everyone just calls me Greg) and I'm your CS School President for the 2017/2018 academic year!
I am in my fourth year of studying Mathematics and Computer Science. Although this is my first time representing students of this School, I have served two years on the Executive Committee of our Computing Society (of which you should definitely be a member, by the way), where I gained lots of experience both in helping students and communicating with staff, not to mention organising events.
As president, I will be working closely with the class representatives, so that any of your concerns with courses or the department get sorted out as quickly and smoothly as possible. Therefore, if you have any problems with your studies or have ideas about what could/should be changed in the department please contact me at any time through e-mail on compscipresident@.
During my time of presidency, I view improving the communication of the department with the students as my number one goal. This includes bringing more attention to ongoing research at the school, job opportunities, internship positions, as well as advertising events organised by the Computing Society. I also wish to carry forward the workshops and the mentorship program started by the previous school president.
Our student community is one of the most active at the University, which makes me immensely proud to serve as your student president. It has brought me many great experiences during my time here, and now I hope I can give something back to you.
