Unaccompanied SATB choir who sing a range of music including madrigals, folk songs and contemporary choral music.
We are a small group of SATB singers who perform regularly to a high standard. All our repertoire is unaccompanied and includes a wide range of music from 16th century madrigals to folk songs to traditional choral music. We rehearse just once a week and therefore expect our members to practise in their own time to ensure we maintain the high standard for which we are known. We perform concerts twice a semester as well as taking part in other important university traditions such as the Gaudie and the Holocaust Memorial Service each year. In addition to performances in St Andrews, we also run two annual tours per annum with one in a European country over the winter break and another around the UK at the start of the summer holidays. As we are a small choir there is plenty of opportunity to get to know the other members well through our regular socials. We pride ourselves on the family feel of the choir, with many of our alumni remaining friends for many years after they leave St Andrews.
We are here solely for students of the University of St Andrews. We exist to make the student experience as strong as it can be, to provide services for students, and to represent student views to the University and beyond. We are a charity registered in Scotland and we are mostly volunteers, from members of the SRC and SSC to Ents Crew, all the society committee members to the Trustees of our Board.
