GeogSoc is the University’s Geography Society! Fun social and academic events will provide you with opportunities to meet other geographers!
The University of St Andrews Geography Society is also known more informally as GeogSoc! Our aim as a society is to organise a range of fun social and academic events for our members throughout the year. GeogSoc events provide you with the opportunity to meet other enthusiastic geographers from first year to postgraduate years. We also hold events with staff members from the Department of Geography and Sustainable Development; as it gives everyone a chance to get to know each other outside of lectures and tutorials. So, if you are studying Geography (physical or human); friends with geographers; just simply interested in Geography; or want to meet some new people, all are welcome!
We host a variety of events throughout the year - with something for everyone. Our events include pub crawls, beach BBQs, cheese and wine nights, coffee mornings, pub quizzes, guest lectures, career talks and our annual GeoBall!
We hope to see you all soon and if you want to keep updated on GeogSoc news, follow us on our social media!
We are here solely for students of the University of St Andrews. We exist to make the student experience as strong as it can be, to provide services for students, and to represent student views to the University and beyond. We are a charity registered in Scotland and we are mostly volunteers, from members of the SRC and SSC to Ents Crew, all the society committee members to the Trustees of our Board.
