The Student Archaeology Society is a group for anyone and everyone who is passionate about archaeology!
Come join the Student Archaeology Society! You don’t have to be pursuing a degree in archaeology or have any experience in it to join. But if you enjoy playing in dirt, envy Indiana Jones’ fashion choices, or just like spending your evenings at the pub, then this might be the society for you! Throughout the year, we run local excavations, workshops, guest lectures, and pub quizzes as well as weekly pub nights. So, if you are looking to get your hands on some medieval pottery or for some excavation experience, we can definitely help you out! We also have members and alumni with archaeological experience all over the world and across time, so if you have a specific interest in a period or place, we can help you get connected with others who share that passion! Membership is £4 and by purchasing membership, you get free or discounted access to all our events!
We are here solely for students of the University of St Andrews. We exist to make the student experience as strong as it can be, to provide services for students, and to represent student views to the University and beyond. We are a charity registered in Scotland and we are mostly volunteers, from members of the SRC and SSC to Ents Crew, all the society committee members to the Trustees of our Board.
