African Lecture Series
ACS, in partnership with the Infection and Global Health Division School of Medicine and with the support of the School of International Relations, held it's inaugural African Lecture Series, entitled "Global Health in an Unequal Global Village:How Should We Respond?". Our speakers included an epidemiologist in WHO’s Health Emergencies Programme, a Research Lecturer and Wellcome Trust Biomedical Society and Ethics Fellow at the Ethox Centre and the Wellcome Centre for Ethics and Humanities, University of Oxford, and a Senior Research Fellow in Medicine at University of St Andrews. The series will continue in April 2018 with another group of distinguished speakers.
UBUNTU is St Andrews ACS’ bold, new cultural explosion, featuring dance, catwalk, and live performance to display the vibrancy and richness of African and Caribbean cultures.
6-a-side Charity Football Tournament
ACS holds an annual 6-a-side tournament in second semester. Each year we partner with a new charity and work to raise both awareness and funds. No athletic ability is necessary!
We are here solely for The University of St Andrews students. We
are here to make the student experience as strong as it can be,
provide services you need and to represent your views to the
University and beyond. We are a charity registered in Scotland and
we are mostly volunteers, from the members of the SRC and SSC to
the Ents Crew who run Union events, all the society committee
members to the Trustees of our Board.
