St Andrews University Conservative Association (STAUCA) is the social and political home of conservatism in St Andrews. We are the largest and most active political society.
We promote conservatism in the university both as a social hub and by giving a political outlet to conservative views. We have a large and regular membership coming from all aspects of the political spectrum. We meet every Tuesday, members and non-members alike are welcome to come and be merry in a casual setting where politics is only barely on the agenda. Every term we usually have a formal dinner to open and end the term, these are always a highlight and start the semester off with aplomb. As well as these social events we enagge in more political activities. Last year John Curtice and Charles Moore came on seperaqte occassions to talk to the society, these are great events to meet people who actually influence politics. When national political events suich as the election swing around we also campaign for Conservative votes before retiring to a well earnt refreshment.
We are here solely for The University of St Andrews students. We
are here to make the student experience as strong as it can be,
provide services you need and to represent your views to the
University and beyond. We are a charity registered in Scotland and
we are mostly volunteers, from the members of the SRC and SSC to
the Ents Crew who run Union events, all the society committee
members to the Trustees of our Board.
