Disabled Students' Network

The Disabilities Subcommittee is a subcommittee of Equal Opportunities focusing on raising awareness of disability, representing the needs and experiences of disabled students, promoting accessibility throughout the Union and University, and signposting support available for disabled students.

Peer Support

We are the Peer Support Network, a one-to-one support service with the aim of connecting the St Andrews community. A subcommittee of the Union, we train student volunteers with the help of Student Services to provide active listening skills.

BAME Students' Network

We're looking for a diverse and motivated committee, with the aim of creating a strong community that provides guidance, support, resources and addresses concerns of all BAME Students at the University.

Treasurer

Maintain the accounts of BAME Network and oversee all BAME Network spending and ensure the effective use of resources, in coordination with the Cash Office and President.

Secretary

Take minutes and manage correspondence including mailing lists.

Sponsorship and Development Officer

Liaise with external organisations to secure adequate funding for events and promote collaborative efforts between BAME Network and local businesses.

Access and Outreach Officer

Work alongside University staff and the Admissions Team to make St Andrews more accessible and appealing to BAME students.

Careers and Alumni Officer

Work with the Careers Centre, SRC Alumni Officer, alumni, and current BAME students to create a network that fosters specific advice for current BAME students.

Postgraduate Representative (Research)

Represent the interests of BAME postgraduates who are conducting research.

Postgraduate Representative (Taught)

Represent the interests of BAME postgraduates who are on a teaching-based degree/taking modules/engaging with university based courses

Member without Portfolio

Responsible for writing weekly updates on the committees’ activities for social media

Wellbeing Subcommittee

The Wellbeing Subcommittee works to promote positive health, wellbeing, and personal safety among students. We are looking for enthusiastic students committed to improving student health and wellbeing in the community.

Take meeting minutes, manage mailing list and send out newsletter, and keep track of attendance.

Treasurer

Keep track of Wellbeing Subcommittee expenses and budget, and deal with money matters at the Cash Office including purchases and reimbursements.

Publicity Officers

Manage the Wellbeing Subcommittee social media channels, create graphic designs in Canva, and advertise Wellbeing events and campaigns.

Events Officers

Plan events throughout the year with the goal of promoting the subcommittee and our aims and support other committee members in their ideas for events within their remit.

Mental Wellbeing Rep

Promote mental wellbeing awareness and services throughout the year by brainstorming and organising events and publicity campaigns, organise Wellbeing Week in the spring term, and represent mental wellbeing issues on the committee.

Sexual Health Rep

Promote sexual health awareness and services throughout the year by brainstorming and organising events and publicity campaigns, organise Sexual Health Awareness & Guidance (SHAG) Week in the winter term, and represent sexual health issues on the committee.

Personal Safety Rep

Promote personal safety by brainstorming and organising events and publicity campaigns throughout the year, including Raisin and May Dip, and represent personal safety issues on the committee.

Men's Rep

Encourage men’s engagement with all areas of health and wellbeing and the subcommittee through events and publicity campaigns throughout the year and represent men’s health and wellbeing issues on the committee.
