► Fairtrade Status

Fairtrade Status

Students campaigned for the University to be awarded Fairtrade University Status, which it was in 2005.

So what?

It means your bananas, tea, coffee, etc. in Halls of Residence are bought according to national fairtrade regulations; so the people who pick the tea leaves for example get a fair price and fair working conditions.

It also means that the University has a commitment to promoting fairtrade.
