► Why affiliate?

Affiliating your society to the Students’ Association has many benefits for your society. The main ones are as follows:

-Financial support (we can help fund your society through grants and, in special circumstances, loans)
-Usage of the Students’ Association's facilities (rooms, equipment etc), for free in the case of rooms and for minimal fees in the case of equipment.
-You can officially use the title 'University of St Andrews' in your society name – ie if you wanted to form a Carpentry society, you could call it the University of St Andrews Carpentry Society
-An option of a free space at the annual Freshers’ Fayre
-The advice and support of the Students’ Association, as well as the Societies Officer and Committee.

If you are thinking of affiliating, please note the following things:

-We cannot affiliate a society which intends to do somethings which another society already does, to make sure you will not clash with another society's aims set out in their constitution please look at the A-Z list of societies and get in touch with ones that may concern you.
-You must have at least 25 paid members

-You must hold at least 3 meetings a semester
-Membership of your society has to be open to everyone
