So how should you go about getting involved in a student society, subcommittee, or group? Remember that all our societies  are open to everyone and you can join at any point during the year.

There are a few options you can try...

•  Find the email address of the society/subcommittee you're interested in, drop them a message to find out when their next event is and how much membership is. A good place is to start is our list of societies and subcommittees.
•  If you become a paid member of a society you can vote on decisions in that society or even run for a position on a society's committee in an AGM or an EGM.
• If you see a society/subcommittee event advertised just go along - everyone is entitled and welcome to every society event and activity, and all society committees are always happy to see new students.
• Use the societies portal to find out more about the society/subcommittee you're interested in, or to see if a society/subcommittee fulfills the interests you have.
• Can't find anything that fits the bill? Start a new society!
