About me

Salvete Omnes!

My name is Michael Pagano, and I’m the President of the School of Classics this year! I’m a third year studying Classics in the Joint Degree Programme with William & Mary. I’m primarily interested in cultural convergences across the Classical world, like the cultural syncretism which occurred in the Greco-Bactrian Kingdom and hope to bring that focus to the School this year. Relating to that, some of my goals this year are to help encourage student-led research and publication in the Classics, encouraging a greater amount of diversity of thought and study in that study, and helping students learn to pivot their Classics degrees into careers.

As School President for 2023-2024, I represent all Classics students on various committees such as EduCom, the Classics Teaching Committee, and the Classics Student Staff Consultative Committee. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any complaints, questions, are looking to pitch in, or have ideas for projects!
