The St Leonard's College Postgraduate Society, also known as PGSoc, is the branch of the Students' Association dedicated to the St Andrews postgraduate community. PGSoc organises social, recreational and academic events throughout the year, jointly funded by the Students' Association and the Provost of St Leonard's, and every matriculated postgraduate is automatically a member. The society also seeks to represent postgraduate interests and to solve problems and issues that particularly affect postgraduate students. Highlights of the Postgraduate Society's calendar include the Postgrad Ball, St Leonard's Dinners, drinks events, and a series of academic events.
PGSoc is led by the 'Postgraduate President', who is elected by the entire postgraduate student body to lead the committee and to be the Students' Association's Postgraduate Officer. The PG Soc Committee consists of the postgraduate members of the Students' Representative Council and Student Services Committee, who are elected in a cross-campus election before summer, as well as other postgraduates who are elected in an Annual General Meeting, usually held in October.
