► The Sabbs

 
The four sabbs, or sabbatical officers, are elected by the student body each March. They are students who spend a year working full time leading and directing different areas of union activity. Together with members of staff from within the Association, they form the senior staff team that handles the day to day running of the Union and its activities.


Patrick O'Hare

As Association President, Patrick is responsible for the external image of the Association, representing St Andrews students to the media, redevelopment and strategic planning. He works closely with the Principal's Office, and alongside Sam, Patrick has a seat on the University's governing body



Sam Fowles

Sam is responsible for representing student interests to the University and beyond. Primarily, he works in the areas of accommodation, education, welfare, equal opportunities and on environmental and ethical issues. Alongside Patrick, Sam has a seat on the University's governing body.

 


David Graves

Director of Student Development and Activities

David assists and co-ordinates the activities of the Student Services Committee and the 120+ societies that are affiliated to the Association to make sure that each St Andrews student has as many paths open to them to get involved as possible. He also works closely with the Careers Centre, University and other institutions on issues such as Personal Development Planning and ways of acknowledging extra-curricular activities. 

 

Rollo Strickland

Having given St Andrews music a new lease of life setting up Music Is Love with some friends, Rollo's now looking to put St Andrews more firmly on the musical map, organising more regular dance nights and gigs, as well as one-off events like Freshers' Week and the Graduation Ball. He's also the person to go to for Equipment Hires, the Union Cafés, the Union Shop, Bars and so on.

Gruyere is one of his favourite cheeses. It IS a good cheese, is it not?
