The snow may have melted, but the Christmas spirit returned to St Andrews Town Hall on Friday 15th January 2010, as the Students’ Association helped out members of the Community Council and St Andrews Events who were hosting the annual Senior Citizens Christmas Tea Party.
An excellent turnout of over 150 St Andrews residents enjoyed an afternoon of being waited on by the students, who served tea and sandwiches provided by the Union Café. In addition to refreshments, the senior citizens were entertained with music from an old time band performing a variety of folk songs before taking part in a raffle with two top prizes of food hampers (provided by the Community Council and Fife Council).
Matthew Guest, the Director of Student Development and Activities at the Students’ Association, noted: “This annual occasion is a fantastic event and the Students’ Association relishes its involvement. We were delighted to see so many people enjoying themselves and we are already looking forward to next year!”
