SRC Member for First Years

Few of us will forget those first few days and weeks in St Andrews. The transition from school to university can be a daunting one in so many ways - a new town, new friends, and a new level of academic challenge. But it can be easy to forget the perspective we had when we arrived with fresh enthusiasm and a fresh point of view.

This is why the Students' Representative Council has a specially created position just for first years. Current first years will see construction work start on the new Union and Library, the launch of the University's 600th Anniversary Campaign, and will complete their degrees dealing with the effects of radical changes to higher education funding. With your perspective, the SRC will be able to consider things from the point of view of a new arrival - a student who will live through the changes of the next few years.
