SRC Member for External Campaigns

Sometimes students in St Andrews face issues that are bigger than just these three streets. University funding. Graduate endowment fees. Tuition fees. Loans. Grants. International visas.

Working with NUS Scotland (the National Union of Students) and the Scottish Rectors' Group, we co-ordinate national campaigns on all of these issues and more. The Association President and Director of Representation already sit on both groups, but an additional link between SRC and the wider world would be very helpful.

In order to do this, we're looking for an SRC Member for External Campaigns, to help the officers of the SRC and the sabbaticals run campaigns on a large scale. You'll also work with the Rector, Kevin Dunion, to assist him in his role as the convener of the Scottish Rectors' Group.

It's a fantastic opportunity for anyone with an interest in politics. Those with a knowledge of Scottish politics at Holyrood would be particularly suitable, but we'd happily train anyone with the information they need to know. Whilst it is the specific responsibility of the Association President and Director of Representation to direct external campaigns and lobbying on a national level, it is important that they have a member of the SRC dedicated to helping them achieve this goal.

This position is up for election on 16.03.2012. If you are interested in running for the position, contact Patrick on pres@st-andrews.ac.uk.
