The Mermaids Theatre Fund is responsible for all 'Dramatic Activity' in St Andrews (in the strictly theatrical sense of course!). Essentially a funding body, Mermaids gives out loans and grants to enable you to put on the shows that you want to see. With our new Student Theatre and close links with the Byre Theatre in town, Mermaids funds over 10 shows a semester. Whether your interest is in acting, directing, tech or production, Mermaids is the place to get yourself involved!

Mermaids also hosts the hugely popular annual Christmas Ball, and this year is heavily involved with On The Rocks, the biggest student arts festival in Scotland. With the festival in its second year, the next SSC Performing Arts Officer (president of Mermaids) plays an integral part in building on last year's success and continuing to establish the Festival in St Andrews life.
