Apologies
No apologies.
1.0 Convenor’s Welcome
Dave lets Alex start the meeting with a game! It is called ‘groove ball’ and you have to pass an imaginary ball along the line while making groovy dance moves….it makes everyone laugh and feel a bit silly! Dave thanks Alex for the game and jokingly suggests that he will never let Alex begin the meeting again! On to more important matters, Dave congratulates Will on winning the Charities Convenor position for next year. He also thanks Ceri for running a really good campaign. A lot of effort was put in to it and that is a good advert to the rest of students that the Charities Campaign is worth getting passionate about. Dave thanks everyone for voting, especially first years. Dave says there are only two more meetings before and after the break- time is going really fast! Dave goes on to talk about the Charitable St Andrews event taking place on the 29th of April at 5.00 pm in Lower College Hall. There will be wine and cheese and he invites everyone on the committee. Dave also says that as of next Monday we will be accepting Exec nominations by email.
2.0 Exec Committee Updates
2.1 Sarah Collections Co-ordinator
Considering Dave nearly forgot Sarah last week he decides to let her speak first! Sarah thanks everyone who went along to the collection in Aberdeen. Everyone raised £484.86 which is good going for an hours work! Watching the football was also fun. Sarah is pleased to announce that this brings the collections total to £5,197.12! Sarah passes around sweeties for the hard work everyone has put in! The collection next weekend will be in Glasgow and Sarah passes around a sign-up sheet for this.
2.2 Karlie- Events Co-ordinator
Karlie apologises for missing last weeks meeting. She says that the balloon race will be going ahead on Saturday the 19th of April but she will confirm details next week. Karlie explains that we have a meal after the AGM to celebrate the new committee and to say bye to the old Committee. She passes around a sheet to get numbers so that she can book somewhere. Dave reminds Katie that a date for the social needs to be agreed upon.- they decide on Tuesday the 25th –the same theme as was discussed last week- Karlie thinks it will be a great night!
2.3 Jade –Secretary
I say that I have been collecting Charity nominations and we have a good list now. Hoodies are in! So I ask everyone to please collect them! I say that I will be taking Exec nominations via email next week.
2.4 Clare- Treasurer
Clare reminds everyone about Cash Office money- soon it’s going to charity! Polo shirt money still to come in and any receipts welcomed.
3.0 Other Committee Members
3.1 Katherine- Cloakroom Co-ordinator
Katherine and Dave discuss the fact that hangers and rails are still at Kinkell Farm after the New Hall ball. The ball cloakroom made about £200 which is good to hear. Katherine says that all cloakroom spots are filled for the rest of the year.
3.2 Alex Fun-Run Co-ordinator
Alex says that he is still waiting for the Council to get back to him. Dave asks for a copy of all of the health and safety guidelines. Publicity is ready to roll. Dave says that all we need now are some runners- he says that anyone can do 5K!
3.3 Craig- Charity Chic event
The location and day of the event is discussed at length. Maybe the 23rd in the Mansefield but this needs to be confirmed. Publicity needs to go out soon and rails and hangers will be needed. Craig says that he will get in touch with the relevant people asap to organize the details. Lots of stuff needs shifting so Dave feels it will be a big event and he hopes to get rid of everything!
4.0 Meeting Closed
With nothing else to be discussed, Dave closes the meeting and gets back to his pint of Guinness.
