1.0 Convenor’s Welcome
Dave starts off by welcoming everyone. The question for this week is ‘what would you like for Christmas?’ Dave goes on to explain that the charities office is finally usable again. He chucked out all of the rubbish that was in there and now we have a nice meeting area. Dave then reminds everybody about the upcoming Scottish Rag Conference. He explains that it will be this Saturday, there will be four informal seminars, a lunch and an evening pub crawl for Africa Now. Dave says that, although it will be a fairly low-key, small affair, he hopes that it will still be interesting and useful.
2.0 Exec Committee Updates
2.1 Katie-RAG Week coordinator
Katie says that things are slowly fitting into place for Ragweek. She has now ordered polo shirts and volunteer t-shirts. She says that the recent volunteer meeting went really well with about 25 people turning up. She passes a sheet around in case others want to add their name to the volunteer list. Katie says that she will email nearer the time, but a meeting is planned for this coming Friday at 5pm in the Union.
2.2 Karlie- Events Co-ordinator
First of all Karlie says a big thank you to all of the bakers and those who stood in the cold during our bake sale today. It was a massive success; we raised £123,61! Karlie then talks about the Corona Bop planned for this Friday night. She says that not much needs to be done for it, but she would like some volunteers for on the night so she sends a sheet around. Karlie nearly forgets to remind everyone about the Christmas Charities meal on the 12th of December. She promises she will bring the menu in next week! She thinks it should be a really good night and she expects to see all of the 34 people who signed up there!
2.3 Tom Hobbs- Hitchhike Convenor
Tom says he had a good weekend and things are going well. Basically the only thing to report is that there will be a Race meeting next Friday at 5pm in Venue 2 for all of the racers.
2.4 Sarah- Collections Co-ordinator
Sarah talks about the ‘wee’ pub collection we will be having after the Rag Conference on Saturday. It will be in aid of Africa Now and we plan to go around a fair few pubs! It will be starting at 8 in the Union and finishing in the Union. She adds that an email will be sent out containing all of the details.
2.5 Jade –Secretary
I don’t have much to report but I say that Coral Dyer from SVS will be coming to briefly speak to us at next Monday’s meeting.
3.0 Other Committee Members
3.1 Katherine- Cloakroom Co-ordinator
Katherine is absent from the meeting but Dave informs us that all of the Xmas ball cloakroom slots are filled now.
3.2 Alex Fun-Run Co-ordinator
Alex reports that he hasn’t yet heard anything back from The Links Trust. He says that he is still working on organising the final things for the Edinburgh marathon. He adds that he would like a meeting with Dave at some point to discuss a few things. He says that Run with Rory is now confirmed and date will be the 27th of April, but other than that there are no new developments.
4.0 Meeting Closed
Before Dave finishes he signals to the left over bits of tupperware from the cake sale and politely asks for people to claim them. He also says that hoodies are here to be collected if you have paid. He wishes to speak with Clare Hyatt but she isn’t here and he knows about the plans for the sponsorship team so he doesn’t need to add anything to Charlotte about that. Dave quickly mentions a few events that have happened or are happening around town which we receive money from including the Reduced Shakespeare production and the KK Christmas pantomime happening next week. With no further business to attend to, Dave closes the meeting saying he will see everyone at the bop on Friday.
