1.0 Convenor’s Welcome

 

Dave welcomes everyone to the EGM. Dave explains that Lydia is leaving the Exec committee tonight and he thanks her for all of her help over the last few years and presents her with a nice bottle of champagne. Lydia says how much she has enjoyed her role of Vice-Convenor. Dave briefly explains what the role entails.

4.0             Election of Committee Positions 07/08

 

4.1             Sponsorship Officer x 2

 

Charlotte Cree, Sienna Parker and Kathryn Blanchflower put themselves forward for the vote.

After voting Charlotte Cree and Kathryn Blanchflower are duly elected.

 

4.2             Fun Run Co-ordinator

 

Alex G puts himself forward for the vote.

After voting Alex G is duly elected.

 

4.3             Collections Officer

 

Liz and Katie Oldfield put themselves forward for the vote.

After voting Liz is duly elected.

 

4.4             IT Officer

 

Nobody volunteers to run for the position.

 

4.5 Ragweek Officer

 

Louise Beer, Andrew Titley, Steph Sharples and Meg Valentine put themselves forward for the vote.

After voting Meg Valentine is duly elected.

 

4.6 Nominee to Exec

 

Christina K, Katie Oldfield, and Will Right put themselves forward for the vote.

5.0             AOCB Exec Committee

 

5.1             Clare- Treasurer

 

Clare finally reveals to Sarah after much anticipation and suspense that the Myeloma collection in Dundee raised £980.33! Clare goes on to reveal that the unofficial total so far is £7008.86. While we have raised 1256.67 for the 6 nominated charities. Clare reminds everybody that there is still money in the cash office waiting to be collected.

 

5.2             Sarah Collections Co-ordinator

 

Sarah expresses her delight at the amazing amount raised at the last collection in Dundee. She thanks everyone for the great turnout on the day, 21 people went along which is great news. Sarah congratulates Cassie who is the first person to raise more money than Katie Fowler at the recent collections. She raised £107.99. Katie and David also came 2nd and 3rd. Sarah reminds everyone that bus tickets can be claimed back if they are given to herself or Clare. Sarah regrets that the planned Kilt Tilt to Edinburgh is being replaced by a Breast Cancer Care collection to Dundee on the 20th of October. The decision was made due to the success of the last Dundee collection.

 

5.3             Tom Hitchhike Co-ordinator

 

Tom tells everyone about the Jailbreak meeting happening Tuesday night at 8.30 in Venue 2. He says that Jailbreak involves people paying a £10 entry to try and get as far away from Edinburgh and back in 51 hours in an effort to raise at least £40 each for our 6 nominated charities.

 

5.4             Karlie Events Co-ordinator

 

Karlie excitedly tells everyone about Rory’s birthday bop to be held on the 19th of October in the Union.  She passes around a sign-up sheet for people wanting to help on the night. There will be prizes, games, balloons, and maybe cake! Karlie reminds everyone about the upcoming social on Friday 26th October.

 

5.5             Katie Rag Week Co-ordinator

 

Katie can confirm that the first ragweek meeting will be on Wednesday 24th October from 2-3 in the TV room.

 

 

6.0             Dave closes the meeting

 

Dave thanks Ben Nicholson for his great work with the posters and also Katherine Peck for her amazing organisation of the highly profitable cloakrooms which have raised £1,177 to date. Dave says that hoodie orders will be dealt with next week. Mhairi presents David with Rory’s birthday present- a t-shirt specially made for his birthday! Elizabeth reminds everybody about the pink Breast Cancer Care tea party to be held at her place on Sunday 21st October. Everyone will be invited via facebook. Dave has a final brief discussion about getting hall reps involved in the campaign before thanking everybody for voting and running for positions and then he runs off to catch the hitchhike meeting!
