1.0 Convenor’s Welcome

Dave welcomes everybody. The opening question for this week is –what did you want to be when you were 5 years old? Many funny and interesting answers follow! Dave says he was delighted with last week’s turnout to the EGM and he is pleased that all of the positions were easily filled. He passes round a sign-up sheet for ordinary members and another one for hoodie orders. Dave goes on to explain about the Scots Rag Conference planned for the 8th of December. It will take place in St Andrews, hosted by us in the Union and hopefully many other Scottish Universities will attend. There will be a pub-crawl afterwards with the Universities and Africa Now. Dave will email out further details soon.

2.0             Exec Committee Updates

2.1             Sarah-Collections Co-ordinator

The collection that took place on the 20th of October in Dundee for Breast Cancer Care was a great success! Andrew Titley single-handedly raised £300,41 all by himself! In total an enormous £1308,72 was raised! Sarah thanks everyone who went along and hands out everyone sweeties as a treat for doing so well. Sarah says that everybody can have a lie-in this weekend but there is a collection planned for Saturday 3rd December for Sue Ryder Care.

2.2             Karlie- Events Co-ordinator

Karlie thanks to everybody who helped out at Rory’s Birthday Bop, about £500 was raised in total which is good considering only 50p of the tickets goes to us. Apparently Ceri was amazing at selling all of the sweets! Karlie goes on to talk about the upcoming charities social planned for Friday 26th October. It is a ‘school sports’ themed pub-crawl. A sign up sheet gets passed around.

2.3             Tom Hobbs- Hitchhike Convenor

Jailbreak is well under way and entry forms can still be given into the general office over the next two weeks. The first Race to Amsterdam meeting is taking place next Wednesday at 7pm in Venue 2, so anyone interested in participating is encouraged to go along.

2.4             Katie- Rag Week Co-ordinator

Katie explains that the first Rag Week meeting of this year is taking place 24th October at 2pm in the TV room in the Union.

2.5             Clare- Treasurer

Clare feels she doesn’t have much to say! But anyone who has a collection bus ticket they would like to claim should see her after the meeting. Dave also highlights to Clare that we have had a very successful weekend- raising nearly £2000! Applause all around.
