 09.02.2009 General Meeting Minutes

1.0  Opening of the meeting:

Will asks the opening question: ‘what RAG week event are you most looking forward to?’ He then thanks everyone for all their help during race2Berlin, which was very successful. He also thanks Liz. The then asks everyone if they will donate their facebook page to RAG week and tell all their friends about RAG week.

1.1 Becca – secretary

            Becca asks if anyone would like to help out with the RAG week stall from Thursday onwards, can they come and see her. Also, can they send suggestions to her telling her what charities they would like the campaign to support next year.

1.2 Craig – treasurer

            Craig says that the hoodies are here and asks if people could collect them afterwards, or between 3 and 5 on Thursday in the SAC office. They are £25.

1.2 Liz – hitch-hike coordinator

            Liz says tells us that race2berlin happened in the holiday, so well done everyone. She says that mostly everyone made it. She then explains that the first Saturday of RAG week is lost, and if you take part you will be back for the evening for the hypnotist. She says that places are being sold outside the union between 12-4 from Wednesday to Friday. She then says that she is thinking of doing another jailbreak, so if anyone is thinking of taking over her position next year, they might like to think about helping out with that.

1.3 Katie – collections coordinator

            Katie says that there will be a town collection for RAG week this Saturday between 10 and 5, she sends round a sign-up sheet. She says that she will send an email about it later on this week.

1.4 Tiff – events coordinator

            She says thank you to everyone who came to the Christmas meal. She then talks about skydive deposits. She asks people to come and tell her if they still want to skydive or need to hand their deposit in. She then talks about the summer fair, which is happening on the 19^th April in the quad. She asks people to let her know if they want to help out. She then says that there is a RAG week pub crawl this Tuesday, starting at 8.30 in the Vic.

1.5 Alex – marketing coordinator

            Alex asks people if they want to take part in the guitar hero world tour event going on in refreshers week, as a charities team. He also says that the posters and RAG week mags are here, as well as RAG week hoodies, if you have not collected them yet.

1.6 Mhairi – RAG week coordinator

            Mhairi asks for volunteers to help out with the refreshers fair stall, and for people to talk about RAG week at hall dinners on Wednesday. She then says that there is going to be a volunteers meeting on Tuesday at 7.30 in venue 2. She then tells us what is happening every day during RAG week.

Will says thank you to everyone, especially Mhairi, for making RAG week happen.

Alex then presents David Haines with a doll and tells him that he has to swap it with something better by the next meeting, which will then be swapped in turn.

2.0  Officers’ business

2.1  Shona – climb kili coordinator and liaison officer.

Shona says that they have raised £17,000 so far, and all the money from the Oscars night during RAG week is going to childreach.

2.2  Phillippa – publicity distribution officer

Phillippa says that she will have lots of RAG week posters, if people want to help her out by coming to collect some of them to take away afterwards.

2.3Amy – halls liaison officer

She says that she is meeting all the hall reps tomorrow to talk about the poker tournament.

3.0  Closing of the meeting

Will says that there is a cloakroom available at the Valentine’s Day ball and that there is a hitch meeting after this one.
