08.12.2008 General Meeting Minutes
1.0 Opening of the meeting:
Will asks the opening question: ‘what is your favourite Christmas chocolate?’
He says thank you for everyone who helped out last week selling love actually tickets, and that it is your last chance to buy them this week.
1.1 Becca – secretary
She has nothing to say. She then asks if people want stuff written in the weekly email can they come and see her afterwards.
1.2 Katie – collections coordinator
She says that they had a collection this weekend in Dundee, which raised £899.24, which is amazing considering the cold weather. Well done to Morven, as it was her first collection and she raised £173. She then explains that there is going to be a collection this Sunday outside the Union all day. She then sends round a sign-up sheet.
1.2 Craig - treasurer
Craig also does not have much to say, but that the collections total this year is beating the whole total of last year. Craig then gives Katie some well-done flowers from Sarah Secombes. He says that if you still want bus ticket money come and see him afterwards.
1.3 Liz – hitch coordinator
Liz says we now have Race2 bands!
1.4 Tiff – events coordinator
She says that they had an amazing time abseiling, and that CHSS love us! She then says that the charities meal is on Wednesday, and if you want to come please see her afterwards, as she needs numbers. Ellie then says that they have done the jumble sale posters, and the sale is going to be between 10-4 in the main bar next Tuesday, and sends round a sign-up sheet. Tiff says that we might be doing a skydive, and that she is trying to get more info about it at the moment, so there should be an info meeting soon for everyone who wants to get involved.
1.5 Alex – marketing coordinator
Alex says that he has no news, except that the radio show went well, and that the figures were the highest of the week.
2.0 Officers’ business
2.1 Shona – climb kili coordinator and liaison officer.
Shona has two things to say. Firstly that there’s going to be a slave auction on Thursday eve in the Vic, and that on Weds 17th Dec there is going to be carol singing outside Holy Trinity – timings to be confirmed.
2.2 Phillippa – publicity distribution officer
Phillippa says that she has jumble sale posters, so if you want to hand them out, please come and see her afterwards.
2.3 Amy – halls liaison officer
She says that all the halls apart from New Hall have had their semi-finals, and that the final will be on 21st Feb.
3.0 Closing of the meeting
Will explains about the MV award, and hands out sheets to sign your hours up.
