Pipe

At Pipe Soc we aim to promote and encourage the playing of bagpipe music throughout the student community in St Andrews.

At the core of our society is our pipe band, which runs weekly practices every Thursday evening in the Laidlaw Music Centre. We are always looking for keen pipers and drummers to join up, and we welcome everyone from complete beginners to experienced musicians.

Members of our society regularly play at events across town, and we offer playing opportunities both for solo pipers and as part of our pipe band. We play at some of the biggest balls of the year such as Opening Ball, Welly Ball and May Ball.
